Road to Bimini is the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition campaign being run by Shadowtext. The name was chosen randomly, and unless Shadowtext gets hit by inspiration, probably has nothing to do with the campaign itself.
Overview
A weekly 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons game starting 7:30 PM CST on Sunday, April 5th.

The world Road to Bimini is set in is the world of Eberron, a combination of adventure pulp-serials and fantasy with some steampunk thrown on top for good measure. While Eberron is more of a "template" for the world than the world itself, it may as well be treated as Eberron.
The Party
Sights Unseen is a party that was formed with a lofty goal in mind: Exploration. From cartography to treasure hunts, Sights Unseen has banded together as a group of companions looking to explore the world, each with their own reasons. They take jobs that bring them to places they want to go, exploring caves and wonders that have been lost to legend when the world began to expand and focus more inwardly on towns and government.
Sights Unseen found its early footing in the nation of Aundair. Farren and Rowan have made their way from the peeks of the Icehorn Mountains to this nation -- exploring and adventuring as far as they dare go with just the two of them. They headed for Aundair, seeking companions so that they may broaden their horizons and explore further out into the world. It was in the town of Fairhaven that the two took up a locally posted job, taking on this adventure at the same time as Tacianna. The three adventurers proved to be great teammates, managing to rescue the town person's cat from the depths of the local forests, unscathed. Henceforth, the three became a party, relying and trusting eachother with their lives.
They began to expand shortly after, taking on many party members who didn't work out (including a Kobold Wizard by the name of Jon, with noteriety for being one to quiver and vomit at sight of battle) -- among their few adventures, they happened upon a canine companion who took to following them. It was only after a week's time of the dog following them from battle to inn that the party realized the canine was actually a druid by the name of Bernie. Excited to have found another person they could rely on, he became a steadfast member of their party.
Since the last disappearance of Jon the Wizard, a Warforged had taken to staking out the Inn that the party had been doing business in. After a few days time, the party formally introduced themselves and invited Rock to join them occassionally in their explorations. It is around this time that Rowan regretfully left the party, missing the familiarity of his clan, he went in search of those in his clan who may still be alive.
Keeping his eyes open around Fairhaven for any chance to jump into the world of exploration and adventure, Castiel kept tabs on the group. He appeared to them one night in a local tavern, pulled up a chair and acted as if he were already a member, forcing himself in onto their party with a laugh and a wink.
Though they've been doing this sort of thing unofficially for a while now, it is only recently that they became recognized by their local government as an official business, and have been called out on their first job. A researcher in a little backwater town called Winterhaven has asked them to come map out some ruins for him. It's in the middle of nowhere, and the trains only even run there during harvest season, so it's a long way out of the way--but it should be easy money.
------
When making your character, please take special care to figure out how your character came to join the party, your relationships with other members, and how your character fits into the world. A full backstory isn't necessary (I don't need to know where your character went to elementary school, assuming it's not significant to who that character is), but know how your character fits into the world.
Feel free to make up names or aspects of the culture your character grew up in. This world is brand spankin' new and pretty empty, and pretty much nothing's got a name yet, so make your mark on it. I'll let you know if anything doesn't work.
As you create your characters, please add your name to the list below. If you wish to and know how, provide a link to your character sheet here as well. Try to include some thoughts about how your character came to throw his lot in with the rest of the party. An example using the preferred list format has been added to the list--feel free to delete this once one of you has filled out your information, along with this sentence.
- Shadowtext -- "Freedom Akta," Tiefling / Warlord (Bravura). EXAMPLE CHARACTER ONLY.
- Tilus -- "Tacianna", Eladrin / Warlord (Tactical).
- Tenkei - "Castiel", Drow / Rogue (Artful Dodger)
- DFalcon -- "Farren" Dwarf / Fighter (Battlerager).
- Kaiterra -- "Rock" Warforged / Barbarian (Rageblood)
- Yanbetari -- "Bernie" Human / Druid (Guardian)
- BerlapSack -- "Tor Redthorn" Razorclaw Shifter / Avenger (Persuing)
Character Creation
Characters will be starting from Level 1. When designing your characters, you may use rules found in any of the following sources:
- Core Books (PHB, DMG, MM)
- Player's Handbook 2
- Martial Power
If you wish to use rules from any other source, you must discuss it with the Dungeon Master beforehand.
What Will be Expected of Players
Shadowtext would appreciate being informed of whatever hopes you might have for this campaign, especially things like how you hope your character will grow or any elements of the character's backstory you would like incorporated into the campaign.
Also, if any of you are interested in being the Official Chronicler of the campaign, let me know. The Official Chronicler would be tasked with keeping episode summaries up to date (see below for more on those), though anyone can contribute to episode summaries or provide in-character journals if they want--that's the whole point of a Wiki, after all. But there should be someone who can be fairly dependable about keeping at least something up there if no one else feels like it that week.
Episode Summaries
These are summaries of the events of each episode of the campaign. Feel free to add in-character journals to the individual page summaries if you wish. The episode summary for each page will go up before the episode itself happens, providing a teaser about what situation the characters are in as the episode begins, and players may feel free to warn that they won't be able to make it, for example.

I'm free from about 2:00 PM-12:00 PM CST on Sundays, basically all day Saturday and 4:00 PM-12:00 PM on Wednesdays. There's a little more wiggle room than that, but those are the best times for me.

Alright, schedule is as follows:
- Sunday: Around 1 PST I regularly take part in tests of an in development P&P system, and how long these tests last can vary. Preferrably don't want to game on Sundays as a result.
- Monday: Leave for class at around 9 AM and get back at noon. Have to keep myself open to potentially pick my brother up from class between 4-6 PST. Free any time in between.
- Tuesday: Might have to potentially drop off my brother to class between 1:30 and 3:00, and potentially pick him up between 4-6 PST, free any time besides that.
- Wednesday: As Monday, except also part of an ongoing campaign starting at 7 PST. Not recommended.
- Tuesday: As Tuesday.
- Friday: Free all day with the exception of being part of an ongoing campaign starting at 7 PST.
- Saturday: Free all day with the exception of being part of an ongoing campaign normally starting at 7 PST, but has started randomly at 5 PST at times.

Oh yeah, and forgot to mention - around that week I'll be undergoing a move and won't be available, so you might have to push the start date back a week.
